With his first pletna named Nada, he transported pilgrims and tourists to the island of Bled for many years. Terezija, our grandmother, was born into a rowing family, and she was sent to serve in Koroška in her teenage years, where she learned German language. After getting married, she moved to Straža (to the other side of the lake). In the summer months, she and grandpa Srečko rented rooms to mostly German guests.

Despite the fact that family life was imbued with tourism, she sent her son Bojan to study mechanical engineering. The path took him to Novo mesto, where he picked up a volleyball ball instead of an oar. After a successful entrepreneurial career and after more than 40 years of living in the capital of Dolenjska, he decided to bury his first shovel on his plot in Bled and start returning his roots to his hometown.

Today, Bled is richer for Villa Vernig, an environmentally friendly and sustainable apartment house. Hosts: daughters Katja and Jana, grandchildren Jaka, Julija and Sofija intertwined with volleyball, pharmacy, electric guitar, family chess tournaments, all passionate travelers, nature and sports lovers, will offer guests an insight into the life of the locals and try to make their experience in Villa Vernig as beautiful as possible.
